The Republican People’s Party (CHP) and People’s Democratic Party (HDP) had their homo love rekindled. The CHP and the HDP, which had previously listed homosexual candidates for the June 7th general elections, now are also signatories to a campaign for homosexuals’ ugly demands.

The Republican People’s Party (CHP) and People’s Democratic Party (HDP) had their homo love rekindled. The CHP and the HDP, which had previously listed homosexual candidates for the June 7th general elections, now are also signatories to a campaign for homosexuals’ ugly demands. 39 [sic] MP candidates, with prominent names such as Enis Berberoğlu, Şafak Pavey, and Elif Bulut, have become signatories to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTI) Rights Pledge that was organized by the Social Policies, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Studies Association (SPoD).

Şafak Pavey, the CHP’s MP candidate for Istanbul, reported that she will continue defending LGBTI rights as she did before and that she will carry the responsibilities brought on by this signature with honor.[1]

On the other hand, Musa Çam, the CHP’s Izmir 1st Region MP candidate, claimed that LGBTI rights are the most basic human rights and said “We will do everything we can for LGBTIs.”

HDP Candidates: Homosexuals are not alone

Sevda Özer and Ali Haydar Konca, MP candidates for Kocaeli from the HDP, reported in their statement following their signature of the pledge that LGBTI individuals are not alone in this struggle and that anyone who finds guidance in liberties should support this struggle.[1]

That pledge has the following signatories:

Islamist daily Vahdet calls for LGBTI organizations to be closed down

Islamist daily Vahdet covered Turkish courts’ past rejections of closure requests made against LGBTI associations Kaos GL and Lambdaistanbul as the “judicial promotion of immorality”.

Vahdet was founded in December 2014 by journalists who left Yeni Akit, another extremist newspaper infamous for its hate speech against ethnic, religious and sexual minorities in Turkey. As the last part of its discriminatory attacks, the paper put forth news about the closure requests against Kaos GL Association in 2005 and Lambdaistanbul LGBTT Solidarity Association in 2006.

The Turkish Constitutional Court acknowledged last year that referring to gays as “perverts” is hate speech. However, Vahdet still called Kaos GL and Lambdaistanbul “the NGOs of perverse circles”, deeming the verdicts that the associations are not “contrary to morality” to be a “trump card given to the perverts by the court.”

Vahdet rediscovers LGBTI history in Turkey

Islamist and conservative media organs have been instrumentalizing homophobic and transphobic hate discourse to attack the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) as the country’s LGBTI movement rises despite having no support from the government.

Vahdet claimed that “the immoral circles gain protection to continue their activities freely due to some judicial verdicts”, targeting previous decisions in favor of LGBTIs’ freedom of expression and organization.

Levent Pişkin: “It was not me; it was the state of being a fag* that was judged”

Source: Yıldız Tar, “Levent Pişkin: Ben Değil İbnelik Yargılandı” (“Levent Pişkin: It was not me; it was the state of being a fag that was judged.”) KaosGL.org, 28 May 2014, http://kaosgl.org/sayfa.php?id=16699

Levent Pişkin, the LGBTI activist who received a pecuniary penalty for insulting the Prime Minister commented: “It was not me; it was ibnelik* that was judged… Intent is paramount in cases of defamation. It is with which intent you utter a phrase that determines the insult.”

Levent Pişkin was sentenced to a pecuniary fine of 1500 TL (720 USD) as a result of the “fag” tweet defamation case filed by the Prime Minister. In an atmosphere of hate, in which insulting, hate-mongering, minority targeting publications such as Yeni Akit go unpunished; a “fag” citizen’s demand for an explanation from the head of the executive, legislative and even the judiciary branches of the state was penalized.

Pişkin who said, “it was not me, it was faggotry being judged” had also filed a criminal complaint, which was dismissed by the court. We talked to Pişkin about the proceedings as well as the legal and social implications of the case.

Pişkin said there had to be intent in order for him to be punished for insult. A “fag” himself, he reminded us that he could not possibly have used the word “fag” as an insult.

Pişkin added that he would refile the criminal complaint against Prime Minister Erdoğan and that he will continue his struggle for “faggotry” in every medium.

Yeni Akit: EU, Benefactor of Perverts!

Source: Sinan Yavuzoğlu “AB sapkınların hamisi!” (“EU, Benefactor of Perverts!”) Yeniakit.com, 25 October 2013, http://www.yeniakit.com.tr/haber/ab-sapkinlarin-hamisi-6682.html

Yeni Akit is a conservative daily newspaper that engages in hate speech against LGBTI people and other groups. This is a verbatim translation.

One of the articles easily ignored from the 2013 Turkey Progress Report was the fact that the European Union was setting itself up  to be the benefactor of deviant homosexuality. The European Union proved itself to be a backer of the disgraceful lobby that introduced the concept of “hate crimes” in order to antagonize those who show any kind of opposition to those who seek to ridicule and spew hate towards such sacred values as Turkish – Islamic family structure, Turkish Independence and Individuality. Thus, it became apparent that it will not refrain from its goal which is to degenerate Turkey’s time-honored social composition.

NEW EU ACCESSION CRITERIA: LIMITLESS FREEDOM FOR HOMOSEXUALS!

The report, which goes on to mention the problems of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex groups for numerous pages,  claims that these perverted circles go through  difficulties with internet freedom, a lack of legal security and mandatory military service. After declaring that all demands of these sexual deviants should be granted as a precondition for EU accession, the report expressed several findings and demands. The fact that there was no disruption at the latest “pride parade” was seen as a “positive” development and it was demanded that all further meetings and/or marches should be freely organized.

It was noted that no progress was made against discrimination or equality. The report insisted that the terms “sexual orientation” and “sexual identity” should be added to the new anti-discrimination draft law and discriminatory acts towards these behaviors should be evaluated as “hate crimes”. Hate speech and hate attacks against homosexuals increased. The sentencing for the crimes against LGBTI individuals had reduced punishment by reason of “undue provocation” and “good behavior.” Numerous firings and dismissals were made by the police and military due to the discovery of personnel’s sexual identity.

Yeni Akit: Kaos GL’s attempt to ‘silence Akit’ bounced back from the Court again

Source: “Kaos GL’nin ‘Akit’i Susturma’ Girişimi Yine Mahkemeden Döndü,” (“Kaos GL’s attempt to ‘silence Akit’ bounced back from the Court again,”) 26 March 2014, Yeni Akit, http://www.yeniakit.com.tr/haber/kaos-glnin-akiti-susturma-girisimi-yine-mahkemeden-dondu-14001.html

Yeni Akit is a conservative daily newspaper that engages in hate speech against LGBTI people and other groups. This is a verbatim translation.

Kaos GL attempted to silence our newspaper following our reports about the activities of organizations that go against social values. This attempt resulted in an acquittal.

The hypocrisy of those who speak about “freedom of expression” and object to “media censorship” at every opportunity is revealed yet again. Kaos GL, which has expressed, in various public statements, a desire for unrestricted freedom for everyone, had taken our newspaper to court for a news report published on October 23, 2012. Kaos GL, the supposed advocates of freedom, demanded a criminal case on the grounds that our criticisms of homosexuals constitute an insult offence, and asked that the chief editor be given a prison sentence of up to one year. However, they failed to achieve their goal.

Yeni Akit: CHP Collaborates with Perverts

Source: Yiğit Doğaner, “CHP Sapkınlarla İşbirliğinde,” (“CHP Collaborates with Perverts,”) 06 January 2014, Yeni Akit, http://www.yeniakit.com.tr/siyaset/chp-sapkinlarla-isbirliginde-h9064.html

Yeni Akit is a conservative daily newspaper that engages in hate speech against LGBTI people and other groups. This is a verbatim translation.

CHP’s love for perverts is relentless. Melda Onur, the CHP MP for Istanbul, who has been engaged in collaborative work with the “International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission” (IGLHRC) regarding sexual perverts, went all the way to the UN headquarters in New York City to defend this group’s “rights.” She lobbied for the demands of sexual perverts, including same-sex marriage rights. Melda Onur, the CHP MP for Istanbul, Onur Fidangül and Zeynep Bilginsoy, who represented Kaos GL, the sexual perverts’ organization, participated as “the supporters of the LGBTI movement” in Turkey in the activities organized by the UN that brought together 45 activists from 20 countries. Bilginsoy explained that together with Onur and Fidangül, they worked successfully to advance the rights of homosexuals, transvestites, lesbians, transsexuals and others like them in Turkey, and that they engaged in lobbying efforts.

SAME SEX MARRIAGE IS OUR RIGHT, TOO

Bilginsoy explained that during the proceedings at the UN, they asked for Turkey to be pressured to include sexual orientation and gender identity in official documents and noted that as the Turkish delegation, they exchanged views on the rights struggle for same sex marriage.
